Commission the part of the job you actually need.
D&N has two roles. On a supply order we are the seller: we quote, invoice and supply the goods. On a commission we are your appointed China-side pair of hands: we check, visit, follow and report. This page is about the second role.
Five bounded tasks. The smallest mandate that gives you a defensible answer.
Five commission tasks
Each task has its own inputs, deliverable and limit. They can be combined, but they are not the same promise.
Supplier verification
Verify the legal entity, production profile, export record and the gaps we cannot close, before a deposit is paid. A written file with evidence and limitations.
Factory visits
An arranged visit with a defined route, recorded observations and photographs — including what the factory declined to show.
Pre-shipment inspection
Check a sample, a first article or a production batch against criteria you wrote, by measurement and comparison — not by laboratory test.
Order follow-up
Follow a live order through the factory: milestones, changes, problems and the reporting you agreed, while the order can still be corrected.
Factory acceptance testing
Witness a factory acceptance test and record what was tested and how — or appoint an accredited body to perform it. Two different tasks, stated as such.
Supply and commercial support
Tasks that usually sit beside a purchase order rather than replace it.
Trading & supply
Buy from one seller of record: D&N quotes, invoices and supplies the goods, manages the factory, and issues the agreed export documents.
Industrial sourcing
A focused search and comparison of Chinese factories that can meet the specification — shortlist, RFQ pack and a recommendation you can challenge.
Technical procurement review
A desk review of the specification, the quotation and the assumptions behind it: what is comparable, what is missing, and what to ask before a purchase order.
Export coordination
Domestic transport, export documents and the handover agreed for the order — usually to the port or the forwarder you appointed.
Container loading supervision
An optional loading check: what went into the container, how it was packed and secured, and whether the count matches the packing list.
Choosing
Start from the decision, not from the service name
The useful question is not “which service do I need” but “what decision must I make next”. A deposit decision needs a company and document check. A release decision needs a product check against written criteria. A production worry needs follow-up, not another report.
If two tasks could apply, take the smaller one first. A bounded check that answers the question is cheaper than a broad mandate that produces a longer report nobody acts on.
Match the task to the decision
- About to pay a new supplier → supplier verification.
- Need to see the floor before committing → factory visit.
- Deciding whether a batch can ship → non-laboratory product check.
- Order already running and going quiet → order follow-up.
- Test or certificate required by contract or market → witnessed test or accredited body.
Service questions
The answers that matter before a mandate exists.
Can you provide an inspection certificate?
We provide a written commercial inspection report with measurements, photographs and findings. That is not an accredited certificate. If your contract or market requires an accredited inspection, a statutory check or a laboratory test, we arrange it through a qualified third party and show the scope and the cost separately.
Do you work with our existing factory?
Yes. We can verify the factory, follow an existing order, inspect before shipment or coordinate export documents without replacing your commercial relationship. The mandate states whether D&N is a party to the supply contract or only a service provider.
How do you charge?
A bounded task is quoted as a fixed fee. Continuous follow-up is quoted per month or per milestone. Trading supply is priced inside the product quotation. Third-party test, travel and certification costs are shown separately.
Not sure which task fits?
Describe the decision you need to make and the date you need it by. We will recommend the smallest mandate that answers it.
